Orcas III
Other happy memories include…
Hanging out on the beach.
Jamming’ with the clan - two guitars, one mandolin, and two violins.
Going on the Captain’s boat and making kelp horns.
Paying a visit to the Olga Store, although it was not open. I’ve always loved the mini gas station! Although that doesn’t work either…
Discovering the cowbell that was made in a Swiss village near that in which we will be living.
And hanging with the clan.
Other fun things that didn’t get documented were riding bikes down the country roads (and singing Do-Rei-Mi at the same time), visiting the near resort for coffee runs and hot tubs, poking around Eastsound, roasting marshmallows over the wood stove, visiting the local cemetery in which many dear relatives are buried, eating lots of sugary cereal (the one and only time of the year when we can eat Lucky Charms, Honey Combs, Fruit Loops, and Corn Pops in the same day), more beach combing, splashing in the stream, visiting with cousins Greg and Christy, working the pump, and many laps run around the farmhouse to burn off that sugar!
Even though we leave in less than two weeks and we still have lots of packing to do, I’m so glad we made time to head up to Orcas before we left! Thank you Alderbrook for another lovely getaway! We love you!
