Skiing
This past week we drove up to the mountains for some Christmas break skiing. We had beautiful weather, and got lots of skiing in. (the people in this picture aren’t any of us)
Little Brother got very confident on his skis.

One day we rode the train up to the pass (also the edge of the resort) and then skied our way back over the mountain.
There wasn’t a lot of fresh snow, but lots of sunshine and clear skies. It was amazing to be on top of a mountain and see mountains and glaciers all around you for miles and miles (or rather kilometers and kilometers I suppose).
Then we would come home and play Settlers of Catan or watch Pride and Prejudice (the five hour BBC version of course) and eat raclette or fondue. We still have a week of vacation before us in which we will bake cookies, play wii, read books, or just sleep, but now we can feel that we have accomplished something.

We read aloud from Pride & Prejudice in the car on the way back from Italy today...so much more is explained in the book than one sees in the movies! We can follow along with people's THOUGHTS; very helpful.
