washington barbecue

One of my very very favorite ways to spend a summer day is with lots of friends in the back yard with the grill on. Seriously. I. love. it. Which is why I've always thought it very unfortunate that my birthday is in November. Not really outside weather. But maybe I'll move to Australia and then my troubles will be answered.

Anyway, some friends of ours threw us a barbecue while we were in the States and I loved having friends from all over our life come together to celebrate us. It was so very special.

Some insanely wonderful people all around!

Sister and her friends. They're so pretty! We spent the afternoon talking, playing frisbee, eating, singing, laughing, playing soccer, talking, smiling and most of all, just loving.

Lucy, our cousins' dog, who has been dubbed, "Lucy the Lucifer". Long story. She's fierce.

I fearlessly (mostly) joined the large group of boys for some soccer. After I squished the boys against girl(s) idea I had lots of fun and am pleased to say that 1) I came away with no serious injuries and 2) some of Sister's friends came and joined me.

Music, friends, games, warm late afternoon light, laughter... They always make my day.

The girls again, they are just so darn cute!

It was a lovely wonderful day that I'll remember forever. We have amazing friends.

And before you go thinking I took all these pictures, I didn't! The incredible Mrs. Caramel took a good deal of them, I was having too much fun! So thank you so much for capturing this day for us!

P.S. This is my one hundredth post! I'm sorry to say that I haven't been very faithful here the last few months, but I hope that with the change of schooling and other things this year will go better.
