welcome october

Sister and I kicked off the week with a youth group weekend retreat with our church. We had so much fun and met a lot of really great people. It's exciting to be facing the year with people who have the same beliefs and ideas as you and who actually care about you.
I'm thrilled to be spending time with these people over the next year and I know one thing for sure, it's going to be hard to leave.
We were outside most of the weekend, playing games and eating. It was amazing to be outside in shorts and t-shirts. We've been having an Indian summer after all but quite frankly I'm all ready for cooler weather. Summer's been here since March and I'll be happy to wear sweaters again. Nonetheless I'm savoring these last few days of summer warmth, I know by February I'll want it.

Looking forward for swimming to start after fall break. I've missed the water.

So often I look at our market town as old and boring but when I look at it through visitors' eyes, I see the beauty and antiquity of it. Especially at about three thirty on an day in early October. There are so many fountains everywhere here and I love it when flowers are planted too. The fire hydrant is pretty amazing as well, just look at all the details!

I love my brother. He's silly. And fun. And handsome. And before I know it he'll be taller than me. His shirts already fit me after all. Which is happy, because I like them.

True story.

I've also been listening to this song and this song.

We have two more weeks until our first week of fall vacation. Time is really flying by. Another month and we'll be on our trip, a week later and it's my birthday. Only a month after that it's Christmas. Part of me wants this year to go as quickly as possible and part of wishes it would slow down immensely. But I know that it will be somewhere in the middle, long and short at the same time and that I need to make it all count.

Happy October Friends,
catrina
