Life here lately has been caught up in a frenzy of new books and lined paper and sharpened pencils, of soccer practice and online classes and violin lessons. School has begun in earnest, marching in behind September and bringing order to the cool days, sweaters, candles, and apple pies. We're only a few days into the school year, but my calendar is already filled with book lists and assignments and deadlines. Being back to a schedule is good though, change is good, and I'm excited to start this second year of high school. And hey, it's apple pie season. What could go wrong?
