life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness

I am very patriotic, and so the 4th of July always holds a special place in my heart. This year we were far from our American family but we had fun anyway. We invited some Moroccan/Swedish friends who lived for a long time in the US over and ate meat off the grill, drank iced tea, and dolloped our brownie sundaes with whipped cream. Our flag hung proudly over the street, resulting in a few wishes for a happy Independence Day from our neighbors. It was a good reminder of living life where we are, even if it means celebrating the American Independence Day half way across the world.
